Norwegian Air Ambulance Helicopter is an airline operator, delivering services to the Norwegian and Danish government. 

Norwegian Air Ambulance Helicopter was founded in 1977 and is a fully owned subsidiary company of the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation. The company’s purpose is to promote advanced prehospital emergency medicine by providing emergency services with medical helicopters and medical cars both domestically and internationally. Norwegian Air Ambulance Helicopter has unique expertise at the interface of flight operations, rescue techniques and emergency medicine.

Through a contract with Air Ambulance Services of Norway, Norwegian Air Ambulance Helicopter is responsible for operating all 13 medical helicopter bases in Norway: Kirkenes, Tromsø, Harstad, Brønnøysund, Trondheim, Ålesund, Førde, Bergen, Stavanger, Arendal, Lørenskog, Dombås, and Ål. There is always one helicopter on standby at each base, except for Lørenskog, which has two helicopters.

The company operates the national medical helicopter service in Denmark under contract with the Danish health regions and has a permanent business location in the country. The company operates all four Danish medical helicopter bases, which are located in Saltum, Skive, Billund, and Ringsted.
